Immediate Need

These calls typically require staff to work fast as there is a limited window of time after a person passes away. One of the first questions the funeral director will ask you is if your loved one had already pre-arranged a service with them. If this is the case, the process is much simpler and the funeral home can coordinate staff quickly to come and assist you.

If your loved one had not made any arrangements, the funeral director must first gather some information to begin arranging the service and completing necessary legal paperwork. Some of the questions you can expect to receive include:
  • The deceased’s name, date of birth, and date of death
  • Have they prepared a will that outlines their wishes for caring for their remains?
  • Is the deceased an organ donor?
  • Do you need a legal pronouncement of death?
  • The location to pick up the remains
Once these initial questions have been asked, the funeral director will arrange a time for you to come into our offices and complete the arrangements.

Pre-Arrangement

If you are interested in pre-arranging your service, the process is similar to immediate need but at a more relaxed pace. Some of the initial questions you will be asked include:
  • Have you made any arrangements already?
  • What would you like included with your service?
  • Your name, and other contact information
  • Who should we contact when you pass away?
  • Have you browsed through our selection of urns and funeral products?
  • How will you be paying (pre-pay or wait until death)
Once these initial questions have been asked, the funeral director will arrange a time for you to come into our offices and complete the arrangements.
